Job Overview: We are seeking a Contract Administrator to join our team of professionals.
This full time, exempt position will be primarily responsible for preparing, reviewing, negotiating, administering, analyzing, and auditing contracts for the organization’s construction projects.
Responsibilities: Provides responses to bids, proposals, and contract negotiations.
Thoroughly analyzes all requirements and provisions in contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
Analyzes and reports on prospective risks associated with specific contract terms.
Recommends course of action(s) to mitigate same.
Negotiates contract terms and conditions with external parties in conjunction with key stakeholders or directly on the organization’s behalf.
Creates language standards for existing contracts.
Manages contracts to protect the company’s interest.
Audits existing contracts to ensure compliance with the terms.
Analyzes and reports on contract trends to determine potential impact on the business and identifies courses of action to mitigate future prospective liability.
Issues sub-tier purchase agreements and sub-subcontract agreements and modifies or negotiates the contract terms, as needed.
Prepares change order request letters; enters and reconciles these into the company’s accounting system.
Performs mechanic lien duties and executes applicable job start duties as dictated by the project.
Confers with the insurance broker and obtains insurance policy riders and endorsements needed to ensure compliance with coverage on projects.
Protects the company’s assets by engaging in specified activities such as credit checks; D&B company searches; issuance of guarantee/warranty letters; etc.
Makes recommendations as to findings.

At least four years of similar experience preferably obtained in the construction industry.
Proven track record of minimizing an organization’s risk/liability.
Working knowledge of contract administration, contractual relationships, and terms.
Excellent writing and negotiation skills.
Strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
Proficiency in the organization’s accounting software, Spectrum.
Certification as a current California notary public.
Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) certification.
Paralegal background.
