Join Fish’s San Diego team in our fast-paced Litigation Pricing Group Department as a Contingency Fee Legal Project Administrator.
How Will You Make a Difference?
Support Contingency Fee Leadership Team through intake considerations, matter management, and analysis of overall program.
Run all contingent fee conflicts and open all contingent fee matters to facilitate enforcement of the proper approval process pertaining to non-standard fee arrangements.
Populate and maintain contingent fee SharePoint and OneNote sites to track all incoming opportunities, handling attorney, intake decisions, status and progress updates, and final dispositions.
Coordinate monthly reporting with department leadership.
Utilize litigation knowledge and leverage legal project management techniques to ensure teams comply with budget restrictions and communicate with attorneys accordingly.
Escalate issues to Pricing & LPM leadership and CF Committee as needed.
Leverage LPM techniques to track and report on attorney utilization, including recommendations on staffing assignments.
Provide summary charts of period-over-period matter performance for all CF matters and other fee arrangement matters.
Implement streamlining processes to CF program in an effort towards continuous improvement, performing analysis, gathering learnings and know-how that relates to the Contingency Fee process and legal project management.
Make recommendations to department leadership to refine process and assist with implementing changes.
Prepare and provide model agreements (including matter assessment agreements and engagement letters) to attorneys and maintain the database of model agreements and recent pricing.
Enter and/or modify contingent fee and hourly budgets in budgeting tools.
What Will You Bring to the Table?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field, or equivalent experience in legal project management or legal support.
Lean six sigma yellow belt will be required within six months.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate legal department with demonstrated working knowledge of substantive litigation tasks.
Familiarity with contingent fee programs is a plus.
High impact written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable commanding a room (in person and virtual) to drive project success.
Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff, acting with integrity and consistent responsiveness.
Willingness and ability to cover a wide range and level of tasks, from thinking strategically to troubleshooting detail where needed.
Creative and pioneering thinking, with the ability to identify and analyze issues and implement effective, timely solutions.
Demonstrated ability and strong desire to collaborate closely with colleagues across all firm offices and departments.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneNote, along with the willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies as appropriate.
Occasional travel is required in this position.
This is a hybrid role with occasional time in the office.

Our salary range for this position in San Diego is $96,535 – $131,359 per year
