We are seeking an experienced Intake Specialist to join our team of award-winning litigators.
A successful candidate would already have worked in a fast-paced defense firm focused on civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on personal injury and the ability to learn and apply statutory rules of professional conduct.
This person will work closely with the Head of Legal Operations and collaborate with the firm’s Accounting and Quality departments, but this position is intended to be largely autonomous.

Position Responsibilities: · Performing an initial evaluation of potential client conflicts as clients assign new matters to the firm for attorney review and approval; · Drafting a proposed solution to resolve potential conflicts for attorney approval; · Ability to collaborate with departments across the firm, including critical information sharing; · Ability to analyze relationships between former and current clients as they pertain to the Rules of Professional Conduct; · Ability to learn new legal concepts and apply them on a case-by-case basis; · Ability to draft summaries of client relationships and corresponding implications for representation succinctly and clearly; · Handle incoming new case inquiries and assignments · General civil litigation legal research skills; · Work closely with teams across all of the firm’s offices to help manage opening and closing cases; · Willingness to take on additional assignments and potential help the firm develop and carry out new procedures; · Exceptional problem-solving skills, “can do” attitude, and team player; · Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize workload and assignments.
· Billable time- Capture and enter time billed (head of legal operations partner rate) for running conflicts, analyzing complex matters and summarizing new case matters.
Position Requirements: · Bachelor’s Degree; · Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience; · 5+ years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a civil litigation law firm setting; · Solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules) · Proficiency with document management software; · Working knowledge and competency with case management software; · Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software; · High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat; · Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision; · Work hours will be in line with the Pacific Time Zone and may include overtime; · Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, not required); · Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills; · Ability to manage multiple projects at once and manage expected timelines; · Ability to work in fast paced environment while paying close attention to detail; and · Professional appearance and demeanor.
