Job Description: The Legal Collections Administrator is responsible for managing the placement of legal collection accounts with external agencies for our Asset Management division.
Successful candidates will have a combination of collaborative, detail-oriented, and legally minded qualities and possess effective communication skills.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, including but not limited to petitions/complaints, letters from attorneys for account placement decisions Effectively communicate with internal leadership to provide project status updates Maintain relationships with external collection partners which may include attorneys, paralegals, and courts Ensure all account placements comply with regulatory requirements and company policies Negotiate installment plans within unit guidelines to help resolve balances Stay updated on industry regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance Maintain accurate records of account placements, communications, and agency performance Generate regular reports to track and analyze collection agency effectiveness and overall portfolio performance Administrative duties: prepare and organize documents and invoices, research online, answer client questions, resolve billing disputes, among other tasks Facilitate audits Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal collection activities Appear as a witness in court when necessary Motivation to work independently Look for opportunities to enhance the business and collections division Education & Other Minimum Requirements Associate degree in Business Administration or related field Sound understanding of civil litigation process, including case timeline and actions to be executed during pre and post judgment phases Understanding of common court related costs and legal invoicing process Understanding of chain of title and how to construct and confirm title ownership history is complete Experience with court documents and legal jargon Ability to analyze reports containing consumer demographics and financial data to identify areas for improvement in existing processes, particularly focusing on enhancing portfolio behavior Experience with billing processes, bookkeeping in a corporate environment, and general accounting 2+ years working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization Work in a fast-paced, complex, time sensitive work environment Detail orientated with strong organizational, time management, and math skills Bonus points if you have: Experience in the legal field Experience handling bankruptcies and FDCPA and FCR guidelines Experience with consumer loan collections or a related role within the financial industry Understanding of collection regulations, and compliance standards An eagerness to learn and grow your leadership skills A drive to succeed, a sense of urgency, and a passion for your work An all-around team player attitude Competitive pay with bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes, but not limited to: Salary range for the position is $70,000 - $75,000 annually 401(k) + company match up to 4% Medical, dental, and vision coverage Annual HSA contribution of $1,600 Life insurance, disability, and critical illness Birthday holiday 2 floating Community Days Hybrid work schedule based on length of service and performance standards Free snacks and drinks in the office Tuition reimbursement program Generous PTO, including Paid Parental Leave $2,000 Vacation Incentive Plan after 3 years + $1,000 Sabbatical Day Community funds, wellness funds, and more Learn more about our benefits by viewing our 2024 Employee Benefits Brochure.
