Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation cases
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Assist with case management, including organizing and maintaining case files
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution methods
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and obligations
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.
D.
) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation
- Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures related to litigation
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice to clients
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Familiarity with courtroom procedures and rules of evidence
- Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and prioritize workload
- Experience in negotiating settlements and resolving disputes outside of court
