Overview:
Nelson Mullins is seeking a litigation paralegal in our San Diego office to assist attorneys representing leading automotive and medical device manufacturers in a range of matters pending in State and Federal courts throughout California.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of litigation experience in a law firm, including case preparation from beginning to end and an understanding of a paralegal’s role in the litigation life cycle.
A Day in the Life:
Performing a broad range of substantive paralegal tasks, you’ll work directly with attorneys on litigation involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, industrial machinery and construction equipment.
You will prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions.
You will have direct contact with outside, third-party distributors to obtain records and coordinate inspections.
You will prepare medical records summaries and chronologies.
Other responsibilities will allow you to prepare deposition notices (organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries); prepare case files for experts and corporate witness deposition preparation, track and manage discovery, including preparation and service of document productions; and participate in litigation strategy meetings.

The Ideal candidate would have a 2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate; however, work experience may be substituted for education.
