Full-time or Part time (30-35 hours/week) Immigration Paralegal.
We are a nonprofit organization providing legal immigration services to survivors of human and civil rights violations.
Key responsibilities:
We are looking for a paralegal with 1-3 years of solid asylum immigration experience.
Your resume should include your work experience and different types of immigration areas you are familiar with.
-Analyze case issues and prepare applications for filing
-Perform legal research, write legal briefs and prepare client declarations
-Maintain, prioritize, update and oversee case file status and due dates
-Maintain and update the calendar
-Keep clients up to date and informed on their case
-Client centered, friendly and professional interaction with clients and co-workers
-Organize and prioritize caseload in an efficient manner
-Candidate should posses a passion for serving clients with compassion and dignity.
-Ability to track multiple tasks, projects, cases and deadlines simultaneously.
Education and Experiences:
Ideally a paralegal certification or undergrad degree
Strong MS office capability, ability to work in google docs, network content management
Comfortable working online with various legal systems and databases, experience with eImmigration is desired but not required
Familiar with asylum based immigration forms, filing applications and motions with USCIS and EIOR.
Read, write and communicate effectively.
Ability to work accurately with speed and efficiency.
Previous experience in a legal environment
