This recruitment is for the 2024 Sessions of Seaside Day Camp
Camp Dates:
March 25 to 29 , April 1 to 5, June 17 to August 9, October 21 to 25 , November 25 to 27
Seaside Day Camp Counselors actively lead, motivate, encourage and supervise campers, creating memorable recreational experiences for all the campers.
About the Camp:
The City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department provides Seaside Day Camps which offer recreational activities in a fun and active environment for 5 to 12 year old youths.
Day camps are conducted Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.
m.
to 6:00 p.
m.
at various periods throughout the year.
Age appropriate activities are based on weekly themes, featuring one field trip per week to a local attraction, as well as crafts, cooking, sports, special events, and organized group games and tournaments.
Examples of Important & Essential Duties (included but not limited to)
Lead age appropriate activities, field trips, crafts, cooking, sports, special events, organized group games and tournaments, and supervise campers.
Knowledgeof (position requirements at entry):
Customer service principles.
Objectives of recreational activities.
Instructional techniques.
Basic mathematical and reading concepts.
Record keeping.
Computer programs related to area of assignment.
Food handling.
English language, grammar, and punctuation.
Laws and regulations in driving a vehicle.

Providing customer service.
Using computers and related software applications.
Performing routine mathematical calculations.
Working with money.
Reading.
Record keeping.
Performing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications
Camp Counselors must be at least 16-years.
