Desperately seeking a Black Labrador Retriever (San Diego)

I have a friend named Noel who is 91 years old.
He and his best friend, a beautiful 9 year old black Lab named Tundra, drove to Dog Beach in OB just about every afternoon so she could swim and play in the San Diego River.
For nearly four years I was awestruck and inspired every time I saw this frail, proud, retired military veteran slowly shuffling along the ¼ mile trek through the beach sand just to get his friend to the river.
I snapped this photo a few days before this past Christmas, it was the last day they made this journey together.
Tundra soon succumbed to the cancer that had been discovered just a month before in her hindquarters.
Noel and Tundra lived alone in his small home in Pacific Beach.
Sadly he has few friends and to my knowledge, no relatives to help or comfort him.
He has been informed by all of the normal adoption avenues that he is too old to adopt another dog.
So that brings me here, looking for another Black Lab 3-9 years old for him.
If any of you might know about one that might be available for one reason or another I'd sure appreciate it if you could keep my friend in mind.
