*Your Impact* The *Solar* *Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II* in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites *near San Diego/Escondido, CA*.
The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism.
*Core Responsibilities* * Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment.
* Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
* Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
* Testing/troubleshooting installed equipment and ensuring proper working order.
* Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
* Able work in a solo as well as a group environment.
* Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
*Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
* *Core Experience* * 2+ years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants is preferred.
* Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
* Specific solar experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.
) is preferred.
* Takes initiative to escalate issues at site.
* Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into Apprentices.
* High aptitude and a strong work ethic are a must.
*Physical/Work Environment* At Pearce safety is our number one concern.
Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.
* *Must live within approximately 50 miles of San Diego, CA.
* * Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
* Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
* Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on call" service availability via telephone/text message.
* Travel requirements dependent on support of the company (up to 25% travel).
*Compensation: *$22.
