Estimator must be familiar with Public Works, DoD, Caltrans and Federal projects.
Specific Responsibilities:
Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate.
Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.
Review “take-off” quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates.
Present estimate and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and Gov’t entities to ensure competitiveness.
Education/Experience:
Five plus years of estimating experience including experience bidding underground structures and utilities.
Experience devoted to Price/Cost Estimation - reviewing bids from subcontractors, evaluating price/cost of material and labor
High level of proficiency in MS Office applications.
Expertise in multiple estimating processes including line item estimating, take offs and Cost Estimating Methodologies utilizing Excel and Google Sheets.
Complete understanding and experience performing quantity takeoff surveys.
Experience working in a collaborative environment; ability to work well under tight deadlines.
Effectively interact with a wide range of personnel.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and communication skills.
