Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) The person in this role will lead a small group of business analysts responsible for the development, support, and enhancements to assigned products and platforms.
Job Responsibilities Plan, organize, and manage the functions of more than one product teamteam.
Demonstrates best practices for Product Ownership and Project Management Develop and mentor analyst staff and playing a key role in scheduling the effective utilization of staff resources based on priorities of the CCA Management Team.
Work closely with internal and external business users to identify business needs, develop solutions, and prioritize items for delivery.
Actively participate in the analysis and design of technology solutions to meet the business need.
Be responsible for continually documenting and enhancing the procedures and processes followed in completing the activities of the team.
Act as liaison between the business users technical, operational and sales teams.
Cultivate and apply expert knowledge of the energy industry, Calpine Energy Solutions’ technology and business processes to solve complex business problems.
Lead and mentor a small but growing team of junior and senior business analysts to ensure Calpine Energy Solutions remains the leader in existing markets and grows into new markets.
Supervisor & Direct Reports Provides oversight of individual contributor employees, contractors and third party consultants, using advanced business analysis expertise to 1) mentor junior employees and ensure their growth and 2) ensuring third party consulting partner resources are appropriately utilized and produce the quality and timeliness of work expected 3) manage multiple scrum, product or project teams, and 4) assisting with the recruiting and interviewing process for new candidates to continue our commitment to hiring top talent.
Job Requirements Education Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in information systems, computer science, engineering, business or equivalent experience.
Certifications in Agile Methodology, Product or Project Management a plus.
Experience Previous team leadership experience.
Experience with and Subject Matter Expertise in software development or energy business is preferred Experience with third party vendor management a plus At least 8 years of relevant experience and/or verified proficiency in performing related functions.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Previous experience in a Product Owner role preferred.
Requires excellent verbal and communication skills.
Able to introduce efficiencies to keep product team focused on rapid deployment Identifies and takes ownership for developing ideas for technical or business improvement initiatives that impact department/division.
Must be able to assess priorities and make difficult decisions related to schedule, plans, design, and tactics for current and future business processes, systems, or related applications.
Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to learn independently.
Must possess initiative, advanced decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities.
Must be able to handle multiple requests at the same time and be able to prioritize another resource(s) workload.
Mature, experienced, innovative professional.
Jira experience highly preferred Strong technical knowledge of Excel and data manipulation and analysis skills.
Using comprehensive knowledge of a seasoned professional, serves as a working supervisor for team or work group; day-to-day leadership while performing escalated or complex duties.
Fiscal Responsibilities Responsible for analyzing project estimates and providing cost estimates to management team as needed.
Responsible for monitoring project and team costs to a budget as needed.
Responsible for identifying new technology and support contractors, negotiating from discovery through completed contract alongside our legal teams.
Physical Requirements Sitting and standing for long periods of time.
Salary Information – position is eligible for annual bonus.
Salary range $99,322 to $146.
