Stanford Court Skilled Nursing and Rehab, a Generations Healthcare facility is in search of a Social Services Assistant to join our team.
Job Description:
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing our facility’s social service programs in accordance with current existing federal, state, and local standards, as well as our established policies and procedures, to assure that the medically related emotional and social needs of the resident are met/maintained on an individual basis.
Essential Duties (include but are not limited to):
Assist the Social Service Director/Consultant in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the social service programs of this facility.
Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, and other related departments in planning social services, as directed.
Assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures.
Review department policies and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for identifying the medically related social and emotional needs of the resident.
Receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must have at least one (1) years’ experience in a clerical or administrative position, or successfully completed a secretarial science program from an accredited school/college.
Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents
