About The Job Dudek’s Stormwater Engineering group is seeking a full-time intern for the Summer 2024 who is currently studying civil or environmental engineering.
An ideal candidate will contribute to and gain experience from Dudek’s qualified team to deliver quality work with adherence to project budgets and schedules, build relationships, and engage in professional growth opportunities.
General focus of the position is planning, analysis, design, and engineering support during construction of stormwater-related facilities, including grading, conveyance, flood control, erosion control, and permanent and construction stormwater quality best management practices (BMPs).
Engineering professionals at Dudek frequently work on multi-discipline projects.
Candidates can expect to work collaboratively with Dudek’s restoration/landscape architecture, environmental and water/wastewater teams.
This position will be based in our Liberty Station - San Diego, CA office.
This position will be in office (not remote).
A candidate who is available part-time during the summer and the following school year is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities: Technical tasks include, but are not limited to: Research, data collection, organization, technical analysis, preparation of results, evaluation of data, and interpretation.
Research also includes contacting and speaking with equipment vendors/suppliers, construction contractors, and field specialists as needed to obtain high quality information.
Willingness and ability to learn and utilize various computer-based tools, including primarily AutoCAD and stormwater modeling software such as HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, FLO2D, AES, and WSPGW.
Prepare well written and organized technical reports, consisting of background, approach, data collection, analysis, conclusions and recommendations, including the creation of supporting and informative graphics and tables Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, including necessary research to obtain high quality information.
Develop solid understanding of project goals and objectives and use this understanding to prepare engineering improvement plans and technical specifications under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Civil Engineer.
Willingness and commitment to support any and all tasks necessary as assigned to provide high quality service and deliverables to our clients.
Minimum Requirements Civil or Environmental Engineering major at an ABET accredited university.
