Applied Composites is seeking a Manager, Materials to oversee activities related to internal materials management processes including; planning, scheduling, material handling, stockroom, shipping, and receiving.

Job Accountabilities:
Effectively manages and develops staff for the Materials Function and oversees the related activities
Ensures a steady flow of work is maintained through the manufacturing areas with proper routing, scheduling, dispatching and expediting of materials, including follow-up of work in process
Ensures data integrity in ERP system (Epicor) and drives strict adherence to system and standard processes
Manages cycle count processes to ensure accurate inventory counts
Drives efficiency of picking and material delivery functions
Oversees Kanban processes and continuously improves
Sets team's goals and objectives to achieve the functional, departmental and businesses objectives
Maintains surveillance over all materials, functions, and work in process, according to established rules and policies
Identifies roadblocks and inefficiencies in business processes and make improvements to ensure requirements are met efficiently
Ensures general safety, compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company requirements
Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
Other responsibilities as assigned
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Education: Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years' Experience: 7-10 years or more of relevant experience
Skills:
Extensive experience in materials management and a successful track record with leading employees
Proficient in recognizing and solving complex and challenging problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods
Selects and uses applicable methods, procedures and standards to meet targets independently
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing
Extensive experience in ERP systems, preferably experience with Epicor
Effective interpersonal, written and verbal skills to drive tasks to completion
Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
