The Principal Product Owner, Edge Platform, will report to the Senior Director of Cloud Solutions for Stryker’s Acute Care business unit.
In this role, you will help our customers solve business challenges by rapidly releasing products/services to the market and building elastic, scalable, cost-optimized cloud applications.
Cloud components include infrastructure for storage, messaging services, monitoring, security management, Content Delivery Networks, Web APIs, and “serverless” applications.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, DevOps, quality assurance, portfolio management, and healthcare experts, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, world-class software solutions.

What You Will Do: The Principal Product Owner operates strategically, overseeing and guiding other Product Owners for a large, complex platform with multiple products split into various components and teams.
Here are the key functions of a Principal Product Owner: Strategic Vision and Alignment: - The Principal Product Owner is responsible for executing the strategic direction for the product or product line.
This involves aligning the product strategy with the company's overall business strategy and ensuring that all Product Owners work towards a common goal.
Guidance and Leadership: - They provide guidance and leadership to other Product Owners.
This includes mentoring and coaching to ensure that Product Owners are effective in their roles, adhere to best practices, and align with the product vision.
High-Level Prioritization and Decision-Making: - While individual Product Owners manage the priorities of their respective areas, the Principal Product Owner is responsible for high-level prioritization and decision-making.
They ensure that the most critical aspects of the product are being focused on and that resources are allocated effectively.
Stakeholder Management: - They will lead in managing key stakeholders, particularly at the executive level.
The Principal Product Owner must communicate the product vision, progress, and challenges to stakeholders and integrate their feedback into the product strategy.
Market and Customer Insight: - Keeping a pulse on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities is crucial.
They ensure that the product strategy is relevant and competitive, adapting as necessary to changes in the market.
Cross-Team Coordination: - With multiple teams working on a product or a set of products, the Principal Product Owner is crucial in ensuring alignment and coordination across these teams.

Minimum Qualifications (Required): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Experience in cloud software product management.
Experience with databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB) Experience with messaging queue services (Kafka, Amazon MSK) Strong understanding of Cloud Architecture, security, and software design Must be self-motivated, requiring little direction to achieve a complex goal.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired): Agile Scrum Product Owner certification.
Presentation skills with a high level of comfort speaking with executives and developers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly, and manage high ambiguity.
Experience in medical device software development practices.
Experience with cloud & mobile systems that continuously process and store large amounts of protected data such as PHI.
$126,500 - $279,500 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits.
Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location.
Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
