The County of San Diego has current openings for Staff Development Coordinator Interviews will take place the week of March 18th, 2024 and job offers will be made after interviews are complete.
The County of San Diego is seeking qualified applicants for Staff Development Coordinator.
As a Staff Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for initiating, developing and managing in-service training programs, administering organization development programs and coordinating training activities and/or major organizational change development projects.
Other functions of this position include researching, evaluating and designing instructional courses and materials for other training professionals or developing and implementing major organizational change and/or development projects.
The current vacancies are with the Registrar of Voters (ROV) and Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA); however, this list may be used to fill future vacancies in other departments.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Ability to design, coordinate and implement complex Countywide in-service education and organizational training programs Demonstrates effective communication skills both orally and in writing Ability to build effective working relationships with management, employees, employee representatives, and the public representing diverse cultures and backgrounds Ability to effectively present materials both in-person and virtually to a broad audience Ability to lead a team of trainers and/or instructional designers Knowledge of a variety of training modalities, including e-Learning, multi-media/video, instructor-led classroom and virtual trainings, etc.

Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.
S.
college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in education, instructional technology, psychology, or a related field; AND one of the following three options: Two (2) years at the level of a Staff Development Specialist in the County of San Diego; OR, Three (3) years of full time professional experience designing and delivering human resource management or technical in-service training in a moderate sized private or public sector organization; OR, Three (3) years of full time professional experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity that involved the compilation and evaluation of data and analysis of training requirements for the preparation of training classes, handbooks, manuals and other training aids.
Note: Additional years of experience as described above may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
A master's degree from an accredited U.
S.
college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in any of the fields described above may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

INTERVIEWS AND HIRING PROCESS The timeline for this recruitment is outlined below.
Job Offer and Background Process begins: Background process begins shortly after the job offer is made.
Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date If you are not selected for this interview process, you may have the opportunity to compete for future vacancies.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment.
Current County employees may be excluded from this process.
EVALUATION Qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental applications.
