Position Summary The Project Manager position is an associate to senior-level position supporting the project management needs of our customers.
Bird Rock Systems focuses on delivering products and services within our core practices: Cloud, Security, Network, Privacy & Compliance.
The Project Manager holds the overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of customer-facing projects and managed services.
Project managers ensure various projects go according to plan, they steer things back on track when the unexpected happens, and they bring multiple teams, departments, and stakeholders together to ensure project success.
The Project Manager plays an active role in all phases of a project: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring / Controlling, and Closing.
The Project Manager strives to enable the project team in delivering and exceeding the expectations of the customer while balancing priorities of scope, timeliness, and cost.
The Project Manager is a customer-facing role which requires a high degree of professionalism and excellent soft skills.
Location Must be based in one of the following locations: OC/LA, Phoenix, or San Diego.
However, most of the work will be conducted remotely.
Can be called into our San Diego office at managers discretion.
Main Duties Work with the sales and post-sales teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements within budget and agreed-upon timeframe.
Provide relevant project information to the Operations Team.
Review and validate project contracts for accuracy and risk.
Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communications.
Assembly and coordination of the project team members and assigning individual responsibilities.
Create and manage critical governing documents for the project team including the project plan, issue and risk logs, and other project artifacts.
Organize and manage all phases of the project to ensure on-time completion.
Ensure that all project tasks are assigned and that all resources are being optimally utilized.
Lead meetings with the project team to assess the status and resolve issues as needed.
Serve as the voice of the project team for communications, leading meetings, reporting, as well as issues and risks.
Review and track the status of project deliverables and provide verbal and written project updates and ongoing cost analysis of project delivery.
Responsible for managing scope creep and change orders.
Manage project budget, timecards, keying and tracking costs, and forecasts.
Following and applying standard project management processes and project documentation.
Seek to continuously improve profitability and efficiency of service delivery with processes and procedures.
Deliver new contractor onboarding training.
Monitor customer satisfaction and work quality, remedy when necessary.
Expand and maintain relationships with team members and cross-functional team members.
Negotiate contractor rates.
Work with the engineering team to deliver IT services to Bird Rock Systems.
What You Bring Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Qualifications & Key Skills Time management Organized Resource management Respond to customers in a timely manner Risk management Customer service Problem-solving Effective written and verbal communication Understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile or SCRUM Bachelor's degree or Project Management Training Proven project management experience Ability to manage multiple projects at a time Microsoft Office Applications Preferred Skills PMP Certified Kantata (Mavenlink) Smartsheets Salesforce IT Infrastructure, IT Assessments, Cybersecurity, or Related Tech Background Salary Salary Range: $70k - $90K salary + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
