Job no: 534403 Work type: Staff Location: San Diego Categories: Unit 7 - CSUEU - Clerical and Administrative Support Services, Administrative, Temporary, Full Time, Telecommute eligible (work onsite as scheduled and/or as requested and telecommute as scheduled) Position Description Position Summary The Administrative Support Coordinator is responsible for determining CSU admissions eligibility for first-time freshman applicants.
Reviews applications and academic transcripts for admission and determines CSU eligibility using high school GPA and reviewing high school a-g college preparatory courses.
Reviews applicants college preparatory courses completed in high school to determine minimum courses required by CSU admissions policy are completed.
Reviews correspondence, supplemental information, and academic transcripts to determine admission eligibility.
Reviews applications that require special processing for groups such as applicants with international coursework, athletes, compact program applicants and other special admission populations.
Determines residency status for admissions eligibility and fee purposes for all undergraduate applicants.
Respond to questions from applicants, parents and high school counselors related to established admission requirements and/or residency requirements.
The incumbent must have the ability to gain comprehensive knowledge of CSU and University regulations, policies, and procedures for determining admissions eligibility and residency status for undergraduate applicants.
Independent judgment and problem-solving skills are required to effectively perform the job duties.
This is a full-time (1.
0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end one year from the date of appointment, with the possibility of reappointment.
This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.
m.
to 4:30 p.
m.
, but may vary based on operational needs.
Voluntary two day telecommute hybrid schedule is offered based on operation needs.
This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.
Department Summary Enrollment Services is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Evaluations, Office of the Registrar, Prospective Student Services, Curriculum, Class Schedule, General Catalog, Communications, and the Student Information System and Web interface.
Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.

Education and Experience Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic.
The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Key Qualifications Previous experience in a university setting in admissions, advising, evaluations or other student service-related offices.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Proficiency using personal computers and web browser functionality.
Experience with document reviews in a high-volume environment.
Experience in data entry and updating database records.
Professional experience reviewing/evaluating educational transcripts.
Professional experience reviewing applications for admission or services/benefits.
Professional experience using a student information system at a college or university (PeopleSoft/Campus Solutions).
Professional experience working in a university admissions office with a diverse student population.
Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,505 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505 - $5,508 per month.
