Security Engineer to work a hybrid schedule at NIWC PAC San Diego, CA to provide technical and engineering services for the purpose of developing, analyzing, and implementing technical standards, tools, processes, Cyber Test and Evaluation, Cyber Risk Assessment as well as Assessment and Authorization (A&A), and Validation services for Department of Defense (DOD), U.

Air Force (USAF) Information Systems (IS) and Applications including Industrial Controls Systems (ICS)/Navy Control Systems (NCS) and Platform Information Technology (PIT).
In this role, you will provide technical and engineering services for the purpose of developing, analyzing, and implementing technical standards, tools, processes, Cyber Test and Evaluation, Cyber Risk Assessment as well as Assessment and Authorization (A&A), and Validation services for Department of Defense (DOD).
This contract position is expected to start in June 2024.
Salary Range: $130,000-$165,000 Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team Develop, analyze, and implement cybersecurity technical processes and reviews.
Revise and maintain cybersecurity technical standards.
Perform cybersecurity testing and analysis.
Review and track cybersecurity threat assessments, risk analysis, and reporting.
Perform monitoring and reporting for navy cybersecurity situational awareness (NCSA) monitoring, computer network defense (CND) and defense cyber operations (DCO).
Provide recommendations and assist in the development of cs work force (CSWF) competency development models (CDMS).
Participate in cybersecurity technical exchange meetings (TEMS), CSTA technical authority boards (tabs), and cybersecurity integrated development team (IDT) meetings.
Update DOD systems for RMF in support of A&A activities for operations and maintenance of said systems.
Perform software assurance activities (threat assessment, risk assessment, threat modeling, code analysis, code compliance, etc.
).
Provide additional cyber support services (such as training services and cyber metrics collection, analyzation, and presentation).
Requirements: Experience in leading and mentoring multiple teams and/or large groups.
BS or MS in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or similar.
8-10 years of experience on C4ISR projects with significant contributions in two or more of the following CS/IA areas: CS/IA Compliance; Software Assurance and Security Engineering; Systems Security Architecture; Systems Security Analysis; Computer Network Defense (CND) Analysis; Threat Analysis; Exploitation Analysis.
Experience in leading one or more of the following CS/IA areas: CS/IA engineering design efforts to solve current or potential Fleet issues; assessing CS/IA technology gaps; leading design and fielding of CS/IA technologies; leading or providing support to DoN and/or DoD CS/IA working groups; creation and proposal of technical solutions to CS/IA gaps that have not previously existed, making significant contributions that impact future capabilities in the CS/IA Science and Technology domain.
CISSP, ISSEP and/or ISSAP (and/or other advanced CS/IA security relevant certifications) TS/SCI clearance US citizenship is required.
Minimum one (1) years of experience with Cybersecurity Technical Authority (CSTA) standards and Defense-in-Depth Functional Implementation Architecture (DFIA)/ Defense-in-Depth Functional Implementation Architecture Network Transformation (DFIANT) implementation/development Minimum one (1) years of experience with Navy Cyber Situational Awareness (NCSA) Minimum one (1) years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation Preferred Requirements: Master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or similar.
