Per Diem Veterinary Technician – An employee who is available to work as needed for coverage above and beyond the full time staff members in times of need for efficient patient care.
Availability requirements are established by department according to hospital necessity and will include the number and types of shifts, weekends and holidays.
Per Diem employees are not eligible for benefits.
This position offers the opportunity for growth within our Veterinary Urgent Care, with the flexibility of you being able to decide which hours you choose to pick.
Job Duties Include:
Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
Completing treatments for patients
Executing, monitoring, and recovering assigned sedation and anesthetic events
Assist doctors/technicians before, during, and after procedures with a focus on patient care.
Helping with everyday job duties such as laundry, restraining the patients, dishes, walking the dogs, and cleaning the kennels.
About You:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must
The ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced, fluid environment.
Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience working in a progressive veterinary hospital setting with at least 1 year of specialty/ECC preferred
RVT - Registered Veterinary Technician
Must be available to work at least 1 holiday
