DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the CNA supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living.
Performs uncomplicated technical procedures.
Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies.
Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood and blood products transport, and inventory management.
This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands and the ability to work in a team environment.
Participates in collaborative team environment, including: training and evaluation of peers; scheduling of work; and assisting the administrative functions of the unit.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Active California CNA license.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous acute care CNA experience or other direct patient-care experience.
Experience with EPIC, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Bilingual: Spanish/English.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Per diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week per 4-week schedule.
Must be available 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule and a minimum of 1 holiday.
This is subject to change based on individual department needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $60,468 - $60,468 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
