*PART-TIME OVERNIGHT & DAY SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER COUNSELOR | Registered or Certified*
*Position Overview*
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor Overnight shift holds responsibility for the safety and integrity of the residential addiction treatment program, by conducting night rounds, bed checks, and drug testing, and performing direct client services as well as administrative / office tasks.
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor Day shift provides addiction treatment within the context of an adult men’s residential treatment home and program, though individual and group counseling and education, using a non-timebound framework and other evidence-based practices.
SUD Counselors are also responsible for conducting random drug testing with documentation.
*Line of Supervision*
The SUD Counselor reports to and performs counseling duties assigned by the Operations/Program Manager, who reports to the Executive Director.
SUD Counselors Overnight are also supervised by the Clinical / Program Director.
*Position Requirements*
* SUD registration / certification / or satisfactory progress towards, recognized by State of California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
* Valid driver’s license and insurance
* Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing screenings
* Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite and other necessary software
* Utmost degree of professional confidentiality (PHI)
* Ability to work within a team as well as independently
* Ability to remain awake all night
*Preferred*
* Familiarity with Drug-MediCal (DMC)
* Experience working with alcohol and drug related issues/addiction
* Experience working with high-risk adult men who may be on parole or probation
* Education in traumatic brain injury, and co-occurring disorders
*Position Duties*
* Attend to essentials of residential facility functioning
* Remain alert and aware at all times while on duty
* Perform rounds and bed checks as assigned
* Stay current on all requirements for professional certification
* Perform client drug testing
* Oversee client medication protocols
* Provide individual counseling, group facilitation, crisis intervention, prevention, and referrals
* Maintain thorough and accurate documentation, both hard copy and computerized
* Enforce rules of the facility and implement consequences when needed
* Stay current on all requirements for professional certification
* Attend clinical and staff meetings, as directed by management
* Maintain client caseload, including intakes, treatment planning, referrals, and discharge planning
* Identify and provide referrals and facilitate warm hand-offs as appropriate
*Hours and Compensation*
* 8 Hour Overnight Shifts: Sunday-Monday 10:30 pm to 7:00 am
* 8 Hour Day Shift: Wednesday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm (hours may be altered per request)

* Salary: $18-$22/Hourly
