Job no: 535915 Work type: Staff Location: San Diego Categories: Unit 7 - CSUEU - Clerical and Administrative Support Services, Administrative, Temporary, Full Time, On-site (work in-person at business location) Position Summary The Administrative Support Coordinator II, under the general supervision of the Medical Director, performs a variety of comprehensive administrative and clerical duties in support of student health center operations.
They follow standard policies and procedures in performing these high-level tasks.
Work assignments may involve other related activities within the scope of this classification and may be focused in one or more areas within Student Health Services.
The Administrative Support Coordinator performs work assignments that typically support the full range of clerical and administrative functions within the student health center including support of clinical leadership, coordination of staffing schedules and timekeeping, overseeing various processes essential to administrative operations, appointment scheduling for practitioners, patient reception, and management of highly sensitive patient phone calls.
This is a full-time (1.
0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment.
This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:15 a.
m.
to 5:15 p.

, but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Department Summary Student Health Services offers primary medical care and health promotion to students of San Diego State University through a wide range of programs and services.
Care is provided by board certified physicians, certified nurse practitioners and other medical staff including nurses, clinical laboratory scientists, x-ray technologists, medical assistants, and pharmacists.
In addition to the basic medical care, Student Health Services offers health education, orthopedics, osteopathic manipulative treatment and psychiatry.

” Education and Experience Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic.
The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Key Qualifications Experience with clinical staff scheduling Experience providing front desk reception in an ambulatory healthcare setting Experience working within a healthcare setting adhering to HIPAA requirements General knowledge of daily clinic operations and strong organizational skills, ranging from patient scheduling and reception to processing of paperwork.
Computer skills in practice management and electronic health records.
Comprehension of medical terminology at a level sufficient for accurate transcription of involved information; ability to use medical dictionaries and reference texts as needed.
Ability to maintain patient and staff confidentiality.
Ability to be sensitive to and communicate effectively with a diverse patient population Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,865 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,865 - $6,336 per month.
