Job no: 534203 Work type: Management (MPP) Location: San Diego Categories: MPP, At-Will, Fundraising & Alumni Relations, Full Time Position Summary Reporting to the Executive Director, SDSU Alumni, the Associate Director will oversee all aspects of services and functions related to the scheduling and operation of meetings and events in Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center (PPGAC) facility.
The Associate Director will ensure management of center operations including but not limited to policy development, scheduling, audiovisual services, room setup, event staffing, security, and crowd control.
In conjunction with appropriate campus departments and personnel, the Associate Director is responsible for the building's emergency preparedness program and for monitoring Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) for the facility.
This is a full-time (1.
0 time-base), benefits eligible, at-will position.
This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.
m.
to 4:30 p.
m.
, but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Five years of progressively responsible experience in building management and maintenance including event planning, event management and special events.
Prior supervisory experience.
Experience working with professional quality audiovisual equipment including sound systems, theatrical lighting, projection equipment, basic computer interfaces and related accessories required.
Key Qualifications Working knowledge of conventional facilities (e.
g.
, building structure, HVAC, lighting).
Professional experience in management and operation of a similar higher education facility.
Minimum of three years of experience in formulating, analyzing, and managing budget revenue and expenditures preferred.
Experience with reservations software, diagramming software, PowerPoint, and databases preferred.
