Overview: The Elizabeth Hospice Education Manager (RN Required) is responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated educational plan for clinical staff including admission nurses, case managers, hospice aides, bereavement staff, chaplains, MSWs, and other clinical agency staff.
Collaborates with Human Resources, Compliance and Quality Assurance Departments to ensure all regulatory, standard and compliance education is provided to all appropriate staff.
Ensures complete and accurate documentation records of all educational requirements to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies and contracting entities.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.
m.
-5:00 p.
m.
fully in office in Escondido, CA Salary: $100,000-$130,000 annually.
Salaried exempt position.
Subject to experience and qualifications.
Work Location: Escondido, CA Travel Required for educational purposes.

Responsibilities: Develops an annual education plan, prior to the start of each fiscal year, to include regulatory, compliance, safety and clinical education to all appropriate staff.
Facilitates the coordination and provision of ongoing education of the interdisciplinary team.
Direct responsibility for ongoing advanced education to all nurse practitioners.
Responsible for the management of the Education Department and staff associated with the department.
Responsible for the development and oversight of departments’ annual operating budgets Establishes a clinical orientation program to include nursing, social work, spiritual care and aide staff.
Establishes and maintains an ongoing preceptor program for all new clinical staff.
Provides training and debriefing sessions with precepting staff.
Collaborates with clinical leadership to ensure all elements of the orientation program are documented as complete for all new staff on the clinical teams.
Acts as a clinical expert in electronic documentation.
Assume responsibility for administration of special projects and programs as needed.
Assist with auditing of clinical documentation and consults with the clinical leadership regarding staff training needs.
Collaborates with compliance department to ensure policies and standards are integrated into practice.
Facilitates skills competency training at the time of hire and annually for all clinical staff and ensures completion of all applicable training prior to direct patient care.
Acts as consultant and educational liaison to the Safety Committee.
Develops external relationships with other healthcare entities and acts as the educational liaison for external institutions and clinicians participating in educational or preceptor partnerships/internships with The Elizabeth Hospice.
Qualifications: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of California.
Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program from a recognized university, and a Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Certification as hospice and palliative care nurse.
Requires a minimum of 3 years nursing experience in a hospice or palliative care setting Computer skills use of Microsoft Office Suite, calculator, fax, photocopier.
Current California driver’s license with proof of insurance required.
