PUBLIC HEALTH CLINICS The mission of Public Health Services is to promote health and improve quality of life by preventing disease, injury, and disability and by protecting against and responding to health threats and disasters.
HHSA Public Health Services has a major focus on infectious disease prevention with Tuberculosis Control and HIV, STD, and Hepatitis clinic services located in the main Public Health Services complex and six satellite clinics that offer Hansen’s disease services and Immunizations to the public.
Licensed Vocational Nurses have an essential role in supporting these clinics by providing trauma-informed care, health education, and referrals to a diverse population.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL The San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital (SDCPH) is a publicly funded, free-standing psychiatric hospital located at 3853 Rosecrans Street, San Diego, CA 92110.
It is a locked facility and a component of the San Diego County Behavioral Health Services' continuum of care.
The mission of the Hospital is to provide psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention-oriented acute treatment for adult residents of San Diego County.
The goal of SDCPH is to stabilize patients' behavioral health crisis and move ahead to a less restrictive level of care.

Job Offer and Background Process: Day of interview.
Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment.
Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position.
Employees who work at County locations subject to the California Department of Public Health State Public Health Officer order are required to be fully vaccinated.

EVALUATION PROCESS The names of qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment and supplemental application.
