We are seeking a Tax Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of the companys federal, state, and local income tax requirements, including but not limited to: preparation and documentation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, preparation of income tax returns including estimated tax payments and extensions, analyzing and drafting responses to income tax audit inquiries and tax notices, and researching and planning to identify and execute tax minimization opportunities.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares timely and accurate federal, state, and local income, franchise, excise, and margins tax returns and estimated payments and extensions.
Monitors, researches and interprets federal, state and local tax laws, regulations, and pronouncements to ensure that the company is compliant.
Prepares the federal, state, and local income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including but not limited to maintenance of complex book-tax differences and uncertain tax positions, as applicable.
Manages income tax audit processes through preparation of responses to information requests and interaction with tax agencies, including but not limited to verbal and/or written presentation of the companys tax positions.
Thoroughly and accurately analyzes relevant information to identify, develop, and execute income tax planning opportunities.
Manages tax workflows including tax reporting and compliance calendars, list of annual tax projects and deliverables to internal and external parties, and recurring tax accounting requirements.
Prepares tax account reconciliations.
Manages income tax expense and cash tax forecasting.
Manages income tax credits and incentives projects (e.
g.
WOTC, R&D) working with external service providers.
Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field.
CPA and/or JD preferred.
Experience - 5-7 years related, professional-level federal, state, and local income tax reporting and compliance experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Excellent oral and written business English communication skills
Strong knowledge of corporate tax laws and accounting systems, rules, and regulations
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, and OneSource a plus
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.
e.
, Excel, Word, Access)
Ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels as well as external parties including tax agencies and external auditors
Self-starter who constantly strives for process efficiencies
Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone.
Ability to operate a personal computer and operate a 10-key by touch.

The range for this position is $113,100 - $161,100 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego.
If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
