Registered Nurse - Pediatric ER 13 -Week Contract 11/06/2023 - Anticipated Start Date Mid 4x8-Hour (15:00 - 23:00) Day 4x8-Hour (12:30 - 23:00) Description: * Requirements: Current CA RN license/ BLS/PALS \*\*\*\*Must Haves: Urgent Care and/or Emergency Room experience (pediatric or adult) 2 yrs ER/ICU and triage experience (1 yr Pedi ER triage or 2 yrsAdult ER Triage) will consider Adult ER, but must have Pedi exp 2 yrs travel exp preferred Previous Children's Hospital Experience is highly desired.
Preferred: TNCC/ENPC Department: Urgent Care 4 shifts weekly/ 8 or 10 hour shifts It is an 8 or 10 hour shift.
3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the second week of the pay period.
It is an evening position.
The shift is 1500-2300 on weekdays and 1230-2300 on weekends.
We do not have a set end time, we stay until the last patient is discharged so some nights they are done at 2215 and some nights they can be there until after midnight.
We also have variable start times based on census so you can start at 1500 or 1700 on weekdays and 1230 or 1500 on weekends.
Their schedule will be a combination of start times and locations.
Traveler could work at any of the Urgent Care sites, Mid City, Chula Vista, Escondido, Oceanside.
There is no floating, all the sites are considered the department as a whole.
You will not float to another department in the Rady organization.
Unit Summary: Each location has 7-14 beds and sees 40-70 pts per day; MUST have computerized charting/they use EPIC 8 or 10 D/E rotation/weekends/holidays.
Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice.
Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care.
Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient.
Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.
Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed.
