Position: Billing Clerk
Status: Full-Time

Salary: $18- $26
The Billing Clerk reports directly to the Program Manager.
He/she will be responsible for a variety of program billing-related duties, including those that may be assigned by the Program Manager.
Conduct monthly DMC eligibility verifications for all active program clients by the 5thof every month.
Provide program services staff with relative documentation of client DMC eligibility to be maintained in the client file.
Collect and log all cash and credit card payments and maintain program receipt books; ensure secure deposit of monies collected into program safe.
Assist Program Manager in tracking and preparing and third-party billing each month and as directed.
Ensure that all Payor Group Enrollments for each active program client is entered into SanWITS in an accurate and timely manner with all appropriate information to prevent billing issues.
*Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience*: Must have at least two years of experience providing administrative support, with a preference for individuals who have worked in a substance abuse, behavioral health, or other clinical setting.
Past experience should demonstrate the ability to independently perform data entry, maintain databases, and produce reports; success in searching for and correcting errors in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; and strong skills in record-keeping, documentation, and filing.
Must be accurate, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and knowledgeable (or at least aware of) federal, state, and county confidentiality requirements.
Preference will be given to individuals who are registered and/or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor per all DHCS standards and/or those who have experience with systems such as SanWITS, electronic health records, or billing software.
Skills include strong paperwork and computer skills, ability to maintain-up-to-date records, exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team; excellent time management skills; and organizational abilities.
Must be able to pass a drug test, background clearance, and provide a negative TB test.
Must be free of probation or parole for at least one year.
Must have a clean driving record, with a minimum of two years driving experience.
Must comply with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, reporting, etc.
Bilingual proficiency preferred.
