About the Team:
The Labcorp Oncology Research and Development Department develops and validates new Oncology clinical test across the Labcorp Enterprise.
This internship will work with the team in San Diego, California on developing or further improving an Oncology-focused assay or testing capability.
Internship Assignment Summary:
Learn about clinical testing and processing behind testing development
Learn techniques, including Next Generation Sequencing and data analysis
Development lead for a new Oncology Next Generation Sequencing assay
Maintain clear, thorough, and accurate experiment notes
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
Rising Junior or Senior in college, working towards bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
Students pursuing Master's Degree will also be considered.
Hands-on experience in a cell or molecular biology based laboratory.
In the absence of direct research experience, those will have demonstrated capabilities through laboratory-based classes will be considered
Interest in the clinical testing or molecular research fields
Knowledge or experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies a plus
Curiosity and eagerness to learn new things
Pay Range $18-23/hr
Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
