Your role as a Specialist, Benefits & HRIS: You will be primarily responsible for providing admin support on employee benefits, the health and wellness program and maintaining the teams Human Resources Information Systems.
This role also serves as the systems administrator for all other People & Culture-related systems and electronic processes.
This position requires a high degree of discretion when working with highly confidential information.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with: Benefits Assists with various employee wellness events hosted by the People & Culture team Lends support at Spring Training (in Peoria, Arizona) with benefits administration for Minor League Players and coaching staff Serves as back-up Team Administrator for Minor League Player insurance administration Serves as lead for on-boarding new hires with benefit enrollment in HRIS system Assists employees with benefit-related questions Assists with scheduling, posting and coordinating onsite visits with vendors Assist with annual benefit mailings Other duties and projects as assigned by People & Culture management team Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Serves as the department expert and manages the daily upkeep of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS: ADP- Workforce Now), including, but not limited to: processing all system updates such as new hires, status changes, compensation changes, and terminations for the entire organization, including baseball operations.
Expert level attention to detail is a must Receives and processes all new hire paperwork, including but not limited to, PAF, files, HRIS entry, AdobeSign/ClickUp routing, etc.
Utilize eBIS (MLB database) and maintains spreadsheet of baseball contracts and rosters with new rates, teams, locations, tax states, titles, etc.
Makes changes in ADP when applicable Updates FriarNet (intranet system) and padres.
com on all changes made in HRIS to ensure consistency with our records Sets up, maintains, or terminates any type of activity in the HRIS system, including but not limited to: setting up data feeds, implementing new modules, open enrollment events, etc.
Runs a variety of monthly and ad hoc reports as needed Maintains monthly org chart With partnership of all People & Culture team members, creates and maintains SOPs for the department Serves as the systems administrator for the Padres Learning Center, which includes: setting up new users, terminate previous users, assign training(s), etc.
Assists in the administration of the Team Member website for content updates Completes MLB reporting requirements (Diversity reporting) and EEO-1 reports as required Runs termination and new hire reports for Accounting and Ticket Operations, respectively Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: Ability to review data on reports with a keen eye for details, identify and correct issues and troubleshoot root cause(s) in ADP Prior experience with data-based metrics and high-level Microsoft Excel manipulation (including V lookup) skills highly preferred Basic knowledge of HR employment practices and ability to stay abreast of current legislation Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
, and accurate data entry Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner Very strong organizational skills, including the ability to set up and maintaining filing systems and procedures, track and organize upcoming special dates and events, and update databases as needed Exceptional time management skills, with ability to review, prioritize and complete tasks successfully in a timely manner to meet time-sensitive payroll and enrollment deadlines Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability Ability to safeguard and maintain confidential information.
Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance Demonstrated success in looking for continuous improvement situations and offering solutions on processes and procedures Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish is highly preferred You will be required to meet the following: Minimum Associate or bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred.
2+ years in a fast-paced office clerical/administrative environment, preferably in Human Resources or Payroll Prior expert-level experience working with HRIS systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now, including running custom reports Ability to review data on reports with a keen eye for details, identify and correct issues and troubleshoot root cause(s) in ADP Prior experience with data-based metrics and high-level Microsoft Excel manipulation (including V lookup) skills highly preferred Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed Able to travel as needed Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check Pay and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base pay range for this full-time position is $58,000 to $63,000.
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
