edu/postings/3976 Type of Assignment: Full-Time Faculty Position Available: MiraCosta Colleges Nursing, Health, and Wellness Department invites applications for one equity-minded, full-time (10 months per year), tenure-track faculty position beginning in August 2024.
The department is seeking a registered nurse who has a strong clinical background in medical-surgical nursing and who has experience teaching nursing to students or new graduate nurses.
Principal responsibilities include developing curriculum and teaching methodologies that ensure student learning and teaching in the clinical setting.
Clinical instruction is provided at hospitals, long-term care facilities and ambulatory settings.
The person selected will share leadership roles with other full-time instructors in coordinating clinical instruction, developing curriculum, and using culturally-responsive pedagogical techniques.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all full-time faculty to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employees regularly assigned district worksite.
The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
Compensation: Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $85,435 (class I, step 1) to $143,026 (class VI-doctorate, step 10) on the 2024-2025 Annual Salary Schedule.
