Your role as a Paralegal: You will assist the Legal department in all facets of the company’s broad range of legal needs, including contracts, transactional documents, litigation, and administrative support.
The position requires the ability to demonstrate sound judgment, organizational skills, attention to detail and adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with: Exemplifying our Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration, Progress and Innovation, Accountability and Integrity, and Effort and Results, through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego community Drafting and reviewing a variety of different types of contracts such as: sponsorship agreements, event contracts, NDAs, consulting agreements, waivers and releases Assisting in tracking the status of all contracts such as: tracking redlines, ensuring execution and monitoring applicable deadlines Maintain the department’s contract management system and other information archives in order to centralize and streamline key templates, policies, and procedures Providing litigation support such as: document intake, discovery and deadline management Maintaining and filing corporate governance records Managing department operations and develop new process improvement initiatives Monitoring and reviewing legal budget and invoices Other duties and administrative tasks as requested Representing the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, etc.
, and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, printer, phone and computer.
Experience with legal research a plus Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others across all departments in a collaborative, respectful manner Ability to effectively draft and proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines Demonstrate the ability to maintain strictest confidentiality in all aspects of job duties Ability to make decisions that require independent judgement, initiative, and tact Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance You will be required to meet the following: Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s Degree Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program or provide evidence of compliance with the requirements of California Business & Professions Code Section, 6450 et.

regarding paralegals Minimum 5 years previous paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department Able to work on-site full-time As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check Salary and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $80,000.
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
In addition to the base salary, the Padres believe in providing a very competitive and generous compensation and benefits package for its employees.
