SUMMARY: The Veteran Student Affairs Manager is responsible for providing student support and advising services that contribute to the retention, satisfaction, and success of all University veteran students.
This position assists in resource knowledge and promotion, as well as veteran student community building and creating opportunities for veteran students.
This position additionally assists all non-veteran students at the flight training centers as needed.
The Veteran Student Affairs Manager must uphold the philosophy and mission of the University while instilling positive and progressive attitude in all students.

COMPLIANCE:
Responsible for compliance with all local, state, accreditation and federal regulations
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and security of campus files, documents and reports
Ensure and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
SUPERVISION:
Manages direct reports of student affairs coordinators and student tutors.
Conducts interviews, hires, trainings and terminations as applicable.
Manages and ensures employees’ performance standards if necessary.
Ensures through proper monitoring and communication employees adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
Ensures employees’ performance reviews and disciplinary actions are completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Conducts all duties and responsibilities ethically and professionally
Acts as the primary college liaison for veteran students
Develops and manages efforts to ensure that issues concerning the veteran and military population are communicated to the University through representation to relevant departments and committees
Develops and facilitates workshops, events, and activities to spotlight resources for veteran students, including collaborating with other university departments for wider student knowledge
Develops and manages veteran student data tracking for academic and flight progress
Creates and develops veteran student termly newsletter concerning resources, events, and other relevant information
Conducts follow-up to determine student needs and available program services
Provides academic advising to new and continuing students which may impact their ability to meet their academic and career goals
Ensures staff documentation of student communications in student management system and coordinate relevant student information among departments
Identifies students who may benefit from tutoring sessions based on data-tracking
Refers students to community services to provide crisis intervention when appropriate
Helps coordinate campus efforts to assist students who have dropped in re-entering and continuing school
Drives improvements in student satisfaction and retention
Assists with special events such as graduation ceremonies and awards assemblies
Assists in New Student Orientation
