*Full-Time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher: Center-Based*
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our team.
This role is center-based at our early childhood center in Pacific Beach.
*MUST* hold a special education credential OR a Master’s in Special Education (or related field).

*What is it that we do?* Includ(Ed) provides early intervention-focused, full-time, inclusive preschool where all are welcome.
Collectively, our staff provides the support, care, and education that enable typically-developing children and children with disabilities to learn, play, and thrive _together_.
We are launching our own preschool program out of our Includ(Ed) Center for Families in North Pacific Beach.
The program will run 8:30-5 Monday-Thursday, with alternate programming for babies aged 0-2.
5 happening on Fridays.
*Responsibilities:* * Act as lead teacher for our preschool program (ages 2.
5-5).
Run, teach, plan, and coordinate daily plans and activities for the children.
* Collaborate to coordinate, plan, and teach our young toddler program( 0-2.
5) on Friday mornings.
* Collaborate regularly with our therapy team AND parents.
* Track goals, update assessments, and coordinate student success plans for all students * Devote 5 hours per week to lesson planning, curriculum development, assessments, case management and documentation.
Time will also be used for collaborating, communicating, informing, training, and learning with teachers, support staff, therapists, parents, and other professionals.
*Qualifications:* * Applicants MUST hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Child Development, or other related field from an accredited program.
* Applicants *MUST* have either a valid state credential in Special Education and certification in Early Childhood Special Education OR a Master’s Degree in Special Education * Previous experience working with preschool-aged children and/or infants and toddlers (ideally in an inclusive setting) is required.
* Knowledge and expertise in assessing and treating a wide range of suspected developmental delays or disabilities in the areas of fine and gross motor skills, cognition, communication, self-help and social-emotional areas * Basic knowledge of commonly used ASL words.
* Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively balance classroom responsibilities, case management, and home visits.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate and interact compassionately with children and with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
* Candidates should possess a deep understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity, with the capacity to engage effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.
This includes the ability to adapt communication styles, work collaboratively in multicultural teams, and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural nuances.
Successful candidates will be committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment, promoting cultural competence, and contributing to an organizational culture that values diversity.
* Knowledge of best practices in inclusive education and early childhood development and a genuine belief in the power of inclusion.
* Demonstrated understanding of individualized treatment planning and the ability to adapt interventions and differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a transdisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children of all abilities.
* Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a pilot program and work in a collaborative, innovative environment.
* Regular access to reliable transportation.
* Commitment to continued professional development * Conversational Fluency in Spanish a big plus! *Physical Requirements of the Job:* Applicants should be comfortable: * Standing for 2+ plus hours per day * Stooping, bending, climbing, and walking frequently * Lifting up to 40 pounds * Possible appropriate and physical interventions in order to maintain a safe learning environment * Position students in specialized equipment, and/or change diapers as needed.
