*PROGRAM* The Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC) is a licensed day care facility provided as supplemental support for clients of Parent Care Family Recovery Services, serving mothers with substance use disorders and other mental health issues.
Clients can be assured their children are safe as they work towards their sobriety goals and practice parenting skills.
_*We currently have a 20 hour position in central San Diego just above National City.
*_ *POSITION* The Teacher position is responsible for providing high quality effective developmental and educational consulting services to children and their parents.
The Teacher position provides support to the program’s Teacher Aids and volunteer staffs as needed.
Duties include: · Providing high quality effective developmental and educational consulting services to children and their parents.
· Providing support to the program’s Teacher Aids and volunteer staff as needed.
· Must be able to physically assist children with mobility issues and care needs.
· Any field work portion of the job may require driving.
· Maintains staff records.
· Ensure compliance with relevant laws and Department of Education requirements.
*REQUIREMENTS* · Bachelor’s degree in early childhood is preferred, 12 units early childhood development, child development, education, counseling or related field required.
· Minimum of 2 years teaching experience with preschool or early intervention program required.
· This job is very physical in nature – applicants must be able to move quickly, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40lbs unassisted.
· Must offer certain linguistic, gender, cultural and ethnic specific skills: must be able to work with culturally diverse population.
· Must be free of parole and probation for a period of 3 years as specified by program contract.
· Must have a valid California driver's license and a clean driving record.
· Ability to pass a background check, TB, drug screen, and COVID vaccine requirements.
· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
· California Commission on Teacher Credentialing permit preferred.
*HOURS* 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday day shift 8:30am - 12:20pm.
*PAY* $18 per hour *This is a starting rate and may be adjusted up based on education and experience.
* Current Vista Hill employees in this job title for 2024 are paid $18 - $24 an hour.
*BENEFITS* Employees working over 30 hours a week receive employer-paid benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off (vacation and sick leave), paid holidays, employer-paid retirement contribution and clinical supervision (if applicable).
Some programs qualify for student loan forgiveness programs.
Employees who work less than 30 hours a week do not qualify for healthcare benefits.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $18.
