Position overview
Position title: General, Geriatric, Child & Adolescent, and Subspecialty Psychiatry
Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step.
The base pay range for this position is $82,200-$235,400.
Salary is negotiated annually.
Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position description The Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego (https://psychiatry.
ucsd.
edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body.
UC San Diego Psychiatry faculty provide exceptional clinical care, cutting-edge research, and educational excellence.
We seek outstanding applicants for non-tenured/non-tenure track General, Geriatric, Child & Adolescent, and Subspecialty Psychiatry faculty positions with clinician-educator or clinician-scholar interests.
The successful candidates’ clinical focus will be aligned with one or more areas of clinical expertise in the department, including, but not limited to Board specialization in general adult, geriatrics, child and adolescent, consult liaison, and addiction psychiatry, as well as other specialty programs such as eating disorders, community or public sector psychiatry, college mental health, women’s mental health, neuromodulation, and post-traumatic stress.
In addition, the successful candidates’ clinical setting can include inpatient and outpatient, including intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.
The successful candidates will also be expected to teach, which may include lecturing and mentoring in our various educational programs (see https://psychiatry.
ucsd.
edu/education-training/index.
html), embrace culture of excellence and innovation, have an interest in clinical scholarship within the Department and/or basic research.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.

edu/ Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have a MD, DO, PsyD, PhD or equivalent in the areas of neuropsychiatric disorders.
Candidates with a MD, DO or equivalent must be Board eligible or Board certified in general adult, geriatrics, child and adolescent, consult-liaison, or addiction psychiatry.
Candidates with a MD, DO or equivalent and applying for a position with clinical responsibilities must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board, and maintain or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration number to practice in the US.
Candidates with a PsyD, PhD or equivalent and applying for a position with clinical responsibilities must have graduated from an APA-accredited doctoral program which includes completion of an APA-accredited internship and have or be eligible for a license from the California Board of Psychology.
