*Principal, Elementary* *Definition* Serves under the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Instruction as the chief executive officer of the elementary school assigned with total responsibility to provide leadership for the instruction program.
Manages all affairs of the school within district policy and procedures, and supervises all Certificated and Classified employees assigned to serve in the school.
*Examples of Duties* * Serve as the instructional leader for assigned elementary school education programs.
* Establish and maintain a positive and effective learning climate.
* Select, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff.
* Develop school plans and organizational procedures for the health, safety, conduct, and discipline of students.
* Construct and implement a master schedule that provides effective utilization of staff personnel for beneficial advancement of student needs.
* Maintain and use data to improve learning.
* Develop and maintain active relationships with students and parents, to promote engagement.
* Plan, supervise, and direct the business operation of the school, including development of budget and oversee all management funds and facilities.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, student, parents and the general public * Attend assigned Administrative meetings and serve as assigned on District-wide committees.
* Serve as a district officer in communication between District administration and staff.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications* *Knowledge of:* Effective instructional strategies for achievement of elementary school education goals; school programs that prepare students for secondary education; curriculum development strategies; effective leadership principles and practices including organization, supervision, and training; student intervention and recovery strategies; conflict resolution strategies, and team building techniques.
*Ability to:* Lead the functions and activities of a comprehensive elementary school; use digital resources to inform differentiated instruction; communicate effectively orally and in writing; systematically analyze problems, determine solutions, and make sound decisions, collect and use data to improve teaching and learning; interpret and apply all laws, regulations and policies related to assigned work.
*Experience/Education:* Minimum of five years successful teaching experience plus two years of successful administrative experience (preferred) or two years of successful leadership experience.
Elementary experience preferred.
Master’s degree required *Certification Requirement:* California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility by July 1st.
*Salary/Work Year:* 205 days per year at Range 16 of the District’s Certificated Management Salary Schedule.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $134,295.
00 - $161,924.
