" Functional Description: Davis Defense Group ("DDG"), has begun initial screenings for an SEBSP Warfighting Instructor to support the College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) Program at Camp Pendleton, California.
The SEBSP executes in two parts, beginning with an eight (8) week non-resident seminar (NRS) period involving evening (after workhours) seminars; and a two-week final resident seminar (FRS) period with daily seminars.
The program supports sixteen (16) regional senior enlisted (E-8) cohorts, executed in four (4) integrated cycles each Academic Year (AY).
The MAGTF Ops/Warfighting Instructor will provide respective faculty services during FRS and assist the Regional Chief Instructor (RCI) with faculty development and oversight for NRS seminars.
Duties and Responsibilities: For FRS faculty services Maintain Subject Matter Expert (SME) proficiency in USMC MAGTF Operations and operational planning.
Conduct Socratic style onsite and online seminars using CDET approved curricula, schedules, materials and Learning Support System (LSS) sites and resources.
Grade student papers, essays, planning products along with subjective grading requirements per CDET course close-out policies and timelines, using CDET prescribed rubrics.
Ensure strict enforcement of test security and integrity and enforce the CDET academic integrity policy.
Provide remediation through additional personal instruction to students who fail exams.
Ensure LSS enrollment of faculty and students into courses and provide students basic LSS support.
Complete a faculty End of Course (EOC) survey at the end of each FRS course and encourage students to complete student EOC surveys via the LSS.
Complete all MCU mandatory Faculty training (e.
g.
, Faculty Orientation 101 and 201).
For support to NRS (RCI) services Instruct Warfighting classes in at least two NRS seminars each AY.
Provide SME and curriculum focused expertise to support RCI led Adjunct Faculty (AF) training and Faculty Development (FD).
Assist with local faculty development (FD) (to include instructional methods) with AF using CDET FD tools and in conjunction with the CDET FD program.
Provide Faculty Advisor (FACAD) support to assigned NRS seminars for student oversight and continuity throughout NRS and FRS.
Ensure LSS enrollment of assigned faculty and students into courses and provide limited LSS support.
Interact routinely with the CDET Enlisted College Distance Education Program (ECDEP) Associate Dean and course SMEs to maintain content currency with Warfighting lessons and to assist with AF questions.
Monitor and evaluate regional Institutional Research (IR) data/reports (e.
g.
, student and AF EOC feedback) and provide recommendations on Warfighting lessons to the Regional Director (RD) and Associate Dean.
Assist the RCI with feedback on AF performance, per CDET evaluation criteria.
Participate in up to eight (8) hours of local FD per AY, as determined by the RD.
Required Experience: Served as a field grade officer or senior SNCO who is an ILS, SAW, or TLS graduate; or Served as a senior SNCO and a graduate of the Advanced Maneuver Warfare Course (AMWC) or Tactical MAGTF Integration Course (TMIC).
Significant MAGTF planning and operational experience at the battalion/squadron level or above.
Desired Experience: Socratic teaching experience.
Experience with Learning Support Systems (LSS) or Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.
g.
, Moodle).
Education Requirements: High School diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree desired.
