*Bella Mente is looking for a campus assistant to help during school hours.
Employee will report to the Front Office Coordinator and assist in keeping the campus safe, clean and beautiful.
Part time, 28.
75 hours per week.
Shift is Monday-Friday, 8:15am to 2:30pm.
* *Position works 189 days a year (school calendar).
All school holidays and summer are off.
* *CLASS TITLE: OFFICE/CAMPUS ASSISTANT * *BASIC FUNCTION: *Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, supervise and monitor student behavior in classrooms and hallways, before school, after school, during lunch or recess.
Enforce disciplinary policies and regulations, assist with campus beautification, provide coverage in the office when needed, perform other duties as assigned.
*REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:* * Supervises students before, during and after school to ensure good order, discipline and adherence to school rules.
* Communicate incidents and inappropriate behavior of students to site administrators and teachers.
Escorts students to various locations on campus as requested by administrators and front office staff.
* Assists with preventing unauthorized persons on the campus and prevents the unauthorized leaving of the campus by students.
* Assists with traffic control, student pick up and drop off.
* Reinforces the District and school rules and regulations pertaining to student activities, advises students regarding violation of rules and appropriate behaviors.
* Supervise student lunch and recess activities including playground and yard supervision * For purposes of safety reasons, assists with floors and spills.
* Monitor bathroom, water fountain, common areas and walkways.
* Assists with campus beautification, keeping campus clean, litter removal and alleviating potential safety hazards.
* Empties refuse receptacles as needed in and out doors.
* Light cleaning as needed around campus, indoor and out.
* Report hazardous conditions and potential student problems concerning the facility to the front office.
* Report potential or recurring disciplinary problems to the classroom teachers, report students requiring further disciplinary action to the classroom teacher.
* Administer First Aid for minor injuries.
* Report all head injuries and major injuries to the front office immediately.
* Work collaboratively with all staff to monitor and ensure good order, and that discipline and safety protocols are being maintained by students during inclement weather.
* Provide coverage in the office as needed.
* Provide secretarial support for all office staff involving frequent and responsible contact with students, staff and the general public.
* Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, parents and others; schedule meetings, appointments and conferences as needed.
* Initiate and answer phone calls and take messages; provide information and assistance to students, teachers, parents and others regarding assigned office.
* Assist students and parents in correct procedures for completion of registration forms and other applications; review completed forms for accuracy and completeness.
* Compile and maintain a variety of records and reports relating to assigned office; maintain attendance and registration records as assigned; receive monies and issues receipts as needed.
* Maintain appropriate files, forms, cards and records; operate computer terminal to input and update a variety of data; generate a variety of labels, lists, reports, records and rosters as required.
* Type, duplicate and distribute a variety of correspondence and documents, including purchase requisitions, letters, notices, articles, reports, forms, lists and certificates.
* Operate a variety of office machines, including typewriter, calculator, copier, computer terminal and printer.
* Assist staff and students in the health office as assigned; administer prescribed medications according to established procedures.
* Receive, sort, and distribute mail; order, maintain and distribute materials, supplies and equipment as directed.
* Good Attendance.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

● Methods of maintaining student discipline and general needs and behavior of students.
● Interpersonal skills and using patience and courtesy.

● Learn to use proper student discipline procedures.
● React calmly under stressful situations and emergencies.
● Supervise playgrounds, cafeteria and other areas assigned by site administrator with particular attention being given to health, safety, and conduct with students involved.
● Consistently move around and monitor designated areas/zones of student activity.
● Model appropriate behavior at all times.
● Understand and follow oral and written directions.
● Read, interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
● Work cooperatively with others and independently as needed.
● Write and print legibly.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and experience working with children.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Environment: Office environment.
Constant interruptions.
Physical Abilities: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
