*Tutor Job Description*
At Tutoring Club, we work to reduce stress and build confidence by providing academic support for students in rigorous courses, serve as a role model to students, and assist students with organization and project planning.
Tutors are expected to be active learners and mentors, not just content experts.
This is not a Remote position, Tutors are expected to be in the center during the course of the session.
*Tutor Job Duties and Responsibilities:*
* *Provide individualized instruction to students* by (re)teaching subject material, study skills, test taking strategies, discussing testing techniques, working on solutions to problems, and assessing students' progress throughout the tutoring session.
* *Promote productivity and learning* by managing tutoring environment, keeping area free of unnecessary distractions, and increasing productivity and learning.
* *Provide constructive feedback to students* by using positive reinforcement techniques, while encouraging, motivating, and building confidence in students.
* *Communicate student progress* by documenting and updating student records and following up with staff.
*Tutor Job Specifications:*
* Ability to work with children in Elementary, Middle and/or High school
* Have academic proficiency in Math (Calculus, Pre-Calc.
, Geometry, Algebra, Statistics) and optionally in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Spanish, French subjects with an ability to tutor AP and Honors level classes.
* Ability to follow and implement curriculum
* Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
* Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
* Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
* Ability to help students reach their potential
* Ability to ask questions and provide constructive feedback to students
* Ability to implement positive-reinforcement strategies that maximize learning--in a cheerful and authentic manner.
* Ability to arrive for work prepared and on time
*Tutor Education and Experience:*
* Be currently enrolled in college or have a college degree
* Have excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills.
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality
* Academic background in subject areas you wish to tutor
* Must be Detail-oriented - Quality and Precision focused
* Must be Team-oriented - Cooperative and Collaborative
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.
50 - $18.
50 per hour
