Summary

Responsibilities

Candidates must have or be willing to enroll and complete the following:
Hold a valid Career Technical Education (CTE) Culinary Arts credential

Ability to qualify for the Preliminary CTE based on industry experience:
Eligibility Requirements for a CTE Credential:
Applicants must satisfy the following conditions to be eligible for this credential:
- Possession of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- A minimum of three years (or 3000 hours) of relevant work experience in the specified industry sector, including at least one year of practical experience.
- Recent work experience of at least one year within the past five years, or two years within the past ten years.
(Note: A year is defined as at least 1000 hours of work, which can be accumulated through full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.
)
Options for Verifying Qualifying Employment:
- Documentation of work experience must be presented through one of the following methods: Verification from available employer, verification from an unavailable employer, or self-employment verification.
- Official Transcripts demonstrating pertinent coursework (48 semester units equate to two years of experience).
- Advanced Industry Certifications (may count as one year of experience).
- Verification of General Education Teaching Experience (may count as one year of experience).
Additional Note: Upon receiving an employment offer, eligible applicants must apply for the CTE credential and enroll in the CTE Credential Program offered by the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE).
