SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Track Supervisors, the Trackperson performs inspections and maintains the entire track and right-of-way structures of the San Diego Trolley, Inc.
light rail vehicle system.
Inspections and other track work are carried out within the guidelines established by regulating State and/or Federal agencies and must conform with Standard Operating Procedures in the Track Maintenance Manual.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
• Inspects and maintains the entire track and right-of-way structures.
Inspection shall include, but is not limited to, rail, ties, tie plates, joints, hand throw and power switch layout, switch machine and switch stand operating mechanisms, switch points, frogs, rail fasteners, ballast, sub-soil, embankment, bridge structures, culverts, and drainage on right-of-way.
• Performs preventative, corrective, and rehabilitative work on track and structures including, but not limited to, switch maintenance and adjustments, bridge repair, re-gauging, spot surfacing and spot lining.
• Conducts appropriate inspections and other reports, as required.
• Monitors track and/or structure contractor activities.
