Job Description: Shift: Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri Are you ready to get outside? Are you courageous enough to lead others to be adventurous? Looking to make a difference and spending your summer making lifelong memories and friendships? Girl Scouts San Diego Summer Day Camps provide Girl Scouts an opportunity to enjoy all the fun and adventure of camp without the overnight stay.
Your Summer will look like this: Day Camp Counselors with strong leadership, creativity and enthusiasm, to inspire and guide girls through the adventure and fun of themed day camp programs and specialized activities.
As a Day Camp Counselor you’ll plan, lead and assist in the teaching, supervision and safety of daily program activities for an assigned unit of campers.
Executing leadership, mentorship, and inspiration to campers.
Guiding campers while sharing the joys and adventures of summer camp and program activities, by providing direction, supervision, and organization.
Planning, leading, and assisting with the teaching of camp activities and programs.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff, in accordance with council, GSUSA, ACA policies, procedures and standards Remain alert to campers and staff and assist them with personal and/or health needs; consult with camp health manager and/or camp director, when appropriate Alert to equipment and facilities to ensure safe utilization, proper care and maintenance is adhered to; report repairs needed promptly to camp director.
Maintain flexibility and cooperation to assist with other camp roles or program, as needed.
Performs other duties, as assigned.

Experience and Skills: Here’s what it takes: Be at least 18 years of age.
Able to work June 17, 2024 – August 12, 2024 Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with campers, parents, and staff.
Ability to work with and maintain positive and professional relationships with diverse campers, parents, and staff.
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or in the process of obtaining.
Valid drivers’ license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation (Daily and/or occasional travel may be required).
