*STATUS:* Full-Time, Non-Exempt / Seasonal, June-August Do you love working with kids and making a difference? As one of the largest summer day camps in San Diego, the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center is hiring Inclusion Counselors for the 2024 Camp Jaycee season.
The Camp Inclusion Counselor implements safe and age appropriate programs for the Camp Jaycee participants.
This position will follow and model Camp Jaycee objectives, rules, policies, and guidelines, along with establishing positive relationships with parents, participants and staff.
The Camp Inclusion Counselor will be responsible for assisting participants with special needs or behavioral issues, ensuring their ability to participate in all activities and modifying activities as needed to meet any specific needs.
All Camp Inclusion Counselors will be expected to work together as a team, while using good and sound judgment to handle emergency situations.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* ● Min of 1 year of direct service experience working with individuals with either developmental or physical disabilities required.
● Behavioral background preferred but not required.
● Have or are willing to complete CPR and First Aid certification by start date.
● Ability to use good, sound judgment to handle emergency situations.
● Must be responsible, outgoing, honest and hard-working.
● Flexible and willing to have fun in a team environment.
● Must be available and willing to commit to at least one of the 4 week long camp sessions.
● Ability to adapt to changing dynamics of campers.
● Be able to pass a CA state & Federal background check.
● Must be able to multi-task.
● Ability to be creative and resourceful.
● Be a positive role model for children and staff.
● Must be willing to follow directions and take initiative.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* ● Ability to participate in all physical activities with participants.
● Frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
● Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crawling and bending.
● Ability to work in both an indoor and outdoor environment.
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
● Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
● Ability to perform CPR/AED.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary Pay: $20.
00 - $24.
