*Do you love working with and guiding children? *If so, we want to hear from you!! *Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito* is looking for *After School Program Leaders *at our *Carmel Valley* locations.
We are also looking for DRIVERS as well for our after school programs.
Your schedule would be: *Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri- 2pm- 6pm, and Wed- 12pm-6pm, caring for youth in Grades K-8.
* Many of our After School Program leaders go on to become successful teachers, school counselors, or have other exciting careers! *Drivers*- Under our insurance policy, you would be able to drive our Club vehicles if: (a) you have been driving for at least 3 years, or (b) are over the age of 21, AND have an insurable driving record.

As an After School Program Leader, your main role is to support your After School Supervisor in planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Special Education, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.
This role is expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills while helping prepare youth for success.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:* * Assure conduct, safety and development of members.
* Establish and maintain Clubhouse program goals and settings that insure the health and safety of members.
* Prepare Youth for Success.
* Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes: -promote and stimulate program participation -welcome new members and participate in their club orientation process -provide guidance and role modeling to members * Program Development and Implementation * Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
* Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times.
Prepare periodic activity reports.
* Adhere to strict supervision guidelines of members.
* Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly branch staff meetings.
* Maintain clean work environment and assist with periodic checks/spot cleaning of bathroom and Club spaces when necessary.
*OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:* * May participate in special programs and/or events.
* May be required/requested to work additional hours for rentals and/or events and assist with set up/take down of rental/event equipment.
* May be requested to drive Club van if eligible.
* All other duties as assigned.
*Minimum Qualifications* Education/Experience * Minimum 1 year experience required; education or work experience in camp, after school program setting, childcare, or classroom preferred.
* Possesses interest in continuing their education/work experience in the non-profit field, after-school program, or recreation setting.
*Licenses or Certificates* * CPR and First Aid Certifications a plus.

* Must possess or be able to obtain a valid California driver’s license (if driving our vehicles) *Knowledge, skills and abilities:* * Knowledge of youth development.
* Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
* Ability to work with young people, parents and community leaders.
* Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
* Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service.
* Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
* MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required and the ability to learn specific computer programs as needed.
