_*A bit about us*__: _ We are co-parents who live close to one another and we continue to work together really well.
I’m a yoga teacher and I’m caring, liberal and well-traveled.
Most of the care will be for our 12-year-old at his Dad’s house.
Dad is professional, laid-back, and enjoys camping with our son.
He works from his home and is busy working after school when our son could use some one-on-one time.
Our 12-year-old son is adopted and has Special Needs.
He has depression, PTSD, and ADHD.
He loves playing with his Hot Wheels and riding his bike.
He feels proud when he can be involved.
He reads non-fiction and can recite lots of facts.
He loves adults and he needs a friend besides Mom and Dad.
Our 13-year-old daughter (who generally won’t be the nanny’s responsibility) enjoys cartooning, graphic novels, and gymnastics.
She loves middle school! She also loves adults! _*A bit about you: *_ You are a fun, energetic, strong person with Special Needs/ABA experience! You are a great listener, and you are a role model for a young man who needs another trustworthy person (not Mom or Dad) in his life to look up to! You are comfortable being in charge and saying what needs to be done without ever needing to raise your voice.
You would like to work with a family long-term who appreciates you and your skills.
_*Job Duties: *_ Meet our son at the bus stop after school, engage him in conversation and active play, and involve him in chores (like setting the dinner table), doing crafts, outdoor time, simple food prep, and basic cooking (Ex: making pasta on occasion), and assisting with his bath and bedtime routine.
Household tasks would include light cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, getting the kids to clean up after activities, and occasionally drive our son and daughter to activities or between our 2 homes.
If interested, you could drive our son to his weekly therapy on Tuesdays or you could start later that day.
*Position Highlights*: · Long-term Outlook (Several years long, if you are interested!) · Guaranteed Hours (20 hours) if amenable to work some Saturdays with notice · Dander-free Home · Some PTO & Sick Pay · Minimal Cooking Skills Required · Minimal Household Tasks · 20-25 Hours a Week · Great work environment! *Qualifications*: 2 or more years of Special Needs experience or ABA experience, valid Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, clean driving record, compliance with no social media posting of the kids, flexible to work Saturday afternoons sometimes, and you live fairly close to Encinitas.
