75 per hour SBCS Before and After School Programs work with local schools to provide safe environments for students to engage in extended learning and recreational activities provided for by the ASES and ASSETS grants.
BASP programs include homework support, organized sports, arts activities and a multitude of academic activities in an environment parents can rely on to be safe daily until 6 p.
m.
These programs are housed in both traditional public and charter schools from 1st- 12th grades Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator and Program Director, the Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall program management, supervision, planning and implementation of activities for participants and contractual/regulatory compliance of the program.
Provides support and coaching to staff to establish and meet program goals.
Models and coaches positive, effective, and caring instructional techniques for partnering with School Site Coordinators and direct service staff.
Participates in observational program site evaluations, provide written feedback and guidance in developing corrective action plans when necessary.
Assists School Site Coordinators in the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with school administration and teachers.
Provides professional development trainings that emphasize best practices and supports staff in building professional capacity.
Establishes partnerships with outside organizations, businesses, and partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide constant and consistent supervision of all children and/or youth ensuring their guidance and safety.
Implement age appropriate activities and events for participants, coordinating activities to meet the developmental needs and interests of all children and/or youth.
Plan, supervise and implement the daily program in accordance with the goals and policies of SBCS.
Plan (monthly) and implement (daily) program goals and objectives, calendar of activities, daily schedule, curriculum, and snacks.
Follow protocols and document all incidents/accidents and ensure proper communication to all parties involved.
Accurately document attendance, sign-in and sign-out sheets, absentees and emergency information on each child.
Ensure that program and staff consistently comply with all contract requirements and understand SBCS policies and procedures.
Establish and post emergency procedures appropriate to the site and in conformity with the procedures adopted by the school site and SBCS management to ensure the daily safety of the children and staff.
Provide direction and guidance to site staff on a regular basis; provide breaks and lunches according to labor laws.
Interact with participants in a positive manner while being consistent, treating everyone in the program with dignity and respect.
Other Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate daily program operations including daily set up, youth supervision, and program planning and site maintenance.
Assist to establish and monitor staff schedules and closely coordinate and monitor site staff’s arrival, departure and absences.
Develop and maintain positive communication with school personnel; ensure positive relationship between the school and SBCS; participate in school activities and functions as required.
Communicate with parents regarding their child (ren) participation, activities, progress and other program related matters on a regular basis.
Plan for and request monthly materials and supplies for the program; ensure proper daily security, maintenance and use of program equipment, materials and supplies.
Submit all necessary and related reports by assigned deadline.
Maintain current enrollment list and waiting list, as appropriate for site; recruit and enroll participants as space allows.
Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings for all site staff.
Attend Site Supervisor meetings and relate information to site staff.
Assist in the management of the monthly site budget so as maximize monthly revenue and ensure that expenses do not exceed allotted funding.
Evaluate staff as to performance and responsibilities Work in collaboration with human resources and fiscal departments and follow agency policies and procedures.
Recruit parents for Parent Advisory Committee and hold meetings on a regular basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Must meet and provide documentation of the minimum qualifications for Classroom Assistant; AA or BA is highly desirable, passing score on district’s Instructional Assistant Test) acceptable.
Previous experience supervising staff in a professional setting preferred.
Must be highly dependable.
Ability to provide leadership and stability to the program.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in emergency situations.
Physical ability to lead activities, such as sports, games and curriculum activities, monitor behavior and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Must have a warm and friendly personality, while having sensitivity to meet the needs of a diverse population.
Candidate may be required to drive their personal vehicle on behalf of SBCS; therefore the candidate must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check.
Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver’s license and valid auto insurance policy.
