Title: Child Care Specialist
Status: Minimum 40 hours Week

*Region:* North County / Central San Diego
The child care specialist reports directly to the program manager and is primarily responsible for overseeing and supervising the co-op child care center at an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment and recovery program for women and adolescents, including monolingual and bilingual Spanish-speaking pregnant and parenting females and their children.
Support women in developing and applying parenting skills, including facilitating bonding opportunities, role-modeling appropriate consequences, providing educational instruction, and supporting other positive parenting behaviors.
Develop, implement, coordinate, and oversee age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, and children.
Incorporate The Incredible Years program with all pregnant and parenting clients and their children.
Collaborate with the program's integrated treatment team and provide child advocacy services such as assistance with reunification plans and legal matters.
*Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:*
Must have at least one year of experience working in a licensed childcare program and at least two years working in child development or education.
_Incredible Years_ training and CPR (including infant CPR) and first aid required.
Past experience should demonstrate success working with children and women, including those who have had exposure to substance abuse; ability to implement and oversee culturally and developmentally appropriate activities; and knowledge of community resources for children.
Must be able to pass a drug test, background clearance, and provide a negative TB test.
Must be free of probation or parole for at least one year.
Must have a clean driving record, with a minimum of two year’s driving experience.
Skills include strong paperwork and computer skills, the ability to maintain-up-to-date records, exceptional written and verbal communication, ability to work in a team, excellent time management skills, and organizational abilities.
Must comply with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, reporting, etc.
Bilingual proficiency preferred.
